Dryer Outlet Isn’t Working

Let’s troubleshoot the electrical going to the dryer. The first thing we need to figure out is if the problem is the dryer or the electricity going to the Dryer.

To make this easier you will need a multimeter so that you can test the voltage at the breaker and dryer outlet. If you are getting 240 volts at the breaker then you need to check the voltage at the outlet. If the outlet is not getting 240 volts then you have a problem with one or both of the legs.

Remove the dryer outlet cover and put the leads of the multimeter on the wires themselves. Its possible you just have a bad electrical connection at the outlet.
