How to Install a Ceiling Fan Receiver

A Ceiling Fan Receiver allows you to bypass the pull chains on fans and be able to switch the fan and light with a remote or wall switch. Some fan receivers come with a remote but you can also purchase a wall switch instead. The receivers go inside the canopy of the ceiling fan.

There will be 2 wires; a black and white on one side of the receiver, and three or four on the other side of the receiver. The black and white wires connect to the switch-leg. The wires on the other side of the ceiling fan receiver connect to the wires on the ceiling fan.
