How to Remove a Can Light Without Attic Access

If you have a can light in an unwanted area. You can easily remove it. Even if you don’t have attic access. Watch our video to learn how to remove this can light safely. People sometimes want to replace a can light with a ceiling fan. You can use a regular phillips head screwdriver but it is much easier if you have a stubby screwdriver.

These are just very short screwdrivers. You will need to unscrew the 4 screws near the bottom of the can housing. Once you do this you will be able to push up the housing or pull it down. From here you can access the jbox that the electrical wires are in.
