How to Fix Reverse Polarity

Reverse Polarity is a common electrical violation found in many homes. More often than not it is found in older homes where the wiring is old cloth wiring or knob and tube wiring. With these types of electrical wires, it is harder to identify which wire is the neutral wire and which wire is hot wire. Reverse Polarity simply means that the hot and neutral wires are in the wrong spot.

Open the electrical outlet up. Do you see the neutral wire hooked up to hot terminal? Check out our video and see how else your electrical outlet could be reading reverse polarity.
