How to Test an Outlet for Continuity
If you have used all my proven troubleshooting techniques and you still haven’t been able to solve your electrical issue, then your electrical problem may be concealed. It is possible you have a short in your circuit that is behind the drywall or under the floor.
You can perform a continuity test to figure out which wires have the short in them. Most multimeters you get will have the continuity function on them. Always test, by touching the leads together on the multimeter too make sure you are on the correct setting and that the sound works.
